WEMTEC, Inc. Founder and President
Dr. William E. McKinzie III
Dr. McKinzie has been developing various types of periodic electromagnetic structures for at least the past 10 years. Applications of his designs have included artificial dielectric materials, bandpass radomes, artificial magnetic conductors, surface waveguides, electically-small antennas, and power distribution networks.
Dr. McKinzie earned a BSEE from the University of MO at Rolla in 1982, and MSEE and PhD degrees from UCLA in 1989 and 1992 where he focused on computational electromagnetics. He has worked for large companies including Motorola, Northrop Grumman, and Titan as well as startup companies including Etenna Corporation where he served as the Director of Research.
In 2003, Dr. McKinzie founded WEMTEC, Inc with a vision to develop unique electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) technologies for electromagnetic noise suppression and parasitic mode suppression. He is an inventor on at least 30 issued US patents, and has multiple pending patents directed to inventions of EBG structures for noise suppression and parasitic mode suppression.
